Why is a maintenance system in a water ioniser so important?
In the past, the effectiveness of water ionisers gradually declined over the years. This was due to limescale build-up on the platinum plates inside the ioniser. The ORP value then continues to decrease. This measures the amount of oxygen in the ionised water. For this reason, with many other brands, the system must be descaled using a chemical agent just before replacing the water filter. This agent is also used to descale coffee machines. Only then should you replace the water filter.
Choose a water ioniser with a built-in cleaning system, which makes maintenance easier and also helps maintain the ORP value over the years. Otherwise, whilst you may be making a long-term investment in a water ioniser, its effectiveness will gradually decline. Another way is to buy service products from other well-known A-brands in addition to buying a new water filter periodically. These include citric acid and an electrolysis enhancer liquid which are deployed every 3 weeks for necessary maintenance. Aim to keep the water ioniser powerful. In addition to alertness and your time commitment, this of course involves costs. Add these up over an economic depreciation period of 5 years. When comparing prices, you cannot and should not overlook these recurring costs.
Is osmosis or reverse osmosis dangerous to your health?
There are several systems available for obtaining pure drinking water, including water ionisers with ultra-fine water filters and reverse osmosis systems. Osmosis is a filtration method often used to purify water by forcing it through a membrane to remove contaminants. While osmosis is effective in removing contaminants, it can also remove minerals from the water, reducing its nutritional value. Therefore, it is important not to choose an osmosis water purification system.
Do not opt for an osmosis or reverse osmosis solution. There are studies done abroad that show that not taking the amount of minerals via drinking water for a long time is ultimately not healthy. You consist of 80% of water. The fact that you take in more than enough of these through food does not appear to be a valid argument.
